The Seeing RED Art Exhibition, organised by Art4you Gallery, hosted at Mehromah Art House Gallery from April 12 to 18, 2025, was a striking showcase of contemporary creativity, united by a single compelling element – the colour RED. Featuring 45 captivating works by 30 diverse and talented artists, the exhibition explored how this intense hue can convey profound emotion, bold ideas, and uninhibited artistic expression.

More than just a colour, red embodies passion, love, strength, danger, fire, anger, energy, and bravery. From vibrant scarlet and deep maroon to rich burgundy and vivid vermilion, red’s many shades command attention and evoke strong feelings. This exhibition honored the multifaceted nature of red – powerful and dramatic, yet also tender and emotional – through artworks that resonated deeply with viewers, sparking reflection and connection.
From figurative and abstract pieces to conceptual and mixed-media creations, the exhibition highlighted how the colour red can turn a canvas into a powerful narrative. Each artist brought a unique perspective to the theme, resulting in a vibrant and diverse conversation exploring identity, culture, womanhood, spirituality, inner strength, and beyond. Curated by Jesno Jackson, the founder of Art4you Gallery, the exhibition was thoughtfully designed to let red shine as the central element. As an experienced curator and artist, Jesno views red as one of the most emotionally resonant colours in the artistic spectrum. “Red has the power to speak without words. It holds passion, love, courage, anger, and truth. Through Seeing RED, I wanted to give artists the freedom to go bold and honest, to share their fire with the world,” says Jesno. Her curatorial eye brought together artworks that were not only visually striking but also carried strong emotional and cultural depth.

The exhibition included stunning works by 30 artists such as Khulood Al Jabri, Dina Khataan, Reem Al Subiy, Eric Kwadwo Afranie, Thomas Antony, Mouza Al Darmaki, Sofia Ali, Andrew Scanlan, Roa Al Madani, Banashree Sengupta, Shaf Beypore, Reinier Chirino, Kumar Chadayamangalam, Aliyeh Barazandeh, Mustafa Pracha, Salma Barakat, Neethu George, Jaimee Felysse Reyes, Avigyan Bhattacharya, Zuliya Kuprina, Raveendran Valanchery, Rheanne Louise, Yashi Khatanhar, Nithin Umesh, Natalia Vityugova, Krish, Christine Leonard, Manoo Mittal, Ekaterina Sholomova, Anuj Sarkar, who passionately poured their creativity into this themed showcase. Each artist explored red in their own way, showing its many sides – bold, brave, romantic, fierce, and healing.

“Seeing Red” was a striking exhibition that explored the powerful symbolism and emotional intensity of the color red through a diverse collection of artworks. Each piece in the exhibition channelled red’s multifaceted essence – ranging from passion, love, and vitality to anger, danger, and revolution. Artists embraced the theme with bold expression, using red not just as a color but as a narrative force. From vibrant abstracts to emotive portraits and conceptual installations, the artworks reflected inner fire, cultural identities, and urgent social commentaries. The gallery space pulsed with energy, inviting viewers to confront their own associations with red and immerse themselves in a vivid visual experience that stirred both the heart and mind.
