REFLECTIONS – A Visual Journey of Storytelling and Self-Expression

The Art4you Gallery’s “REFLECTIONS – Stories That Matter” event, which was held from January 25 to January 31, 2025, transformed Mehromah Art House into a sanctuary for creative narrative. Curated by the visionary Jesno Jackson, this landmark exhibition featured paintings, sculptures, and installations by sixteen prominent artists from twelve different nations that told their personal and cultural tales.

At its most deep, art reflects the human condition by encapsulating hardships, victories, and the elusive nature of identity. “REFLECTIONS” is an expedition into the core of visual narrative, not just an exhibition. This collection’s themes, which include social discourse, perseverance, and transition, evoke strong feelings and thoughts in addition to pleasing the sight.

16 Artists with 48 artworks:

While Clarisse Meneghetti’s (Brazil) striking abstractions depicted the development of cultural identity via layered textures, Abir Ouertani’s ceramic sculptures from Tunisia represented the tenacity and connection of nature through complicated, organic patterns. Tatiana Lamiri (Russia/Morocco) investigated bicultural duality, redefining femininity, while Eric Afranie (Ghana) used traditional knowledge to represent sustainability in mixed-media storytelling. Iranian artists Shakiba Rabiei exhibited mixed-media works that embodied chaos and clarity, while Russian artist Vasilisa Eliseeva created subconscious trips that contemplated life’s transient yet profound essence. Mehboobeh Shahnavas used symbolism to enhance the ageless picture of strength and purity, fusing cultural richness with deep sensitivity, while Roya Vahidi emphasized the interconnectivity and resilience that are fundamental to human existence.

Each landscape series by Jesno Jackson (India) captured a brief moment of change and introspection, celebrating the deep harmony and beauty of nature. In a redesigned homage to elegance and flair, Yaashi Khatanhar’s magnificent voyage of Mughal wealth and Renaissance grace came together. Elyazia Aljassmi (UAE) depicted a vision of the human spirit balancing with the natural environment, whereas Thauheeda Thameem’s series embodied the essence of human emotions—hope, resilience, stillness, and transformation—through an evocative investigation of color, texture, and shape.

Tamara Noori (Srilanka) honored the enduring bond between the Emirati people, their customs, and the natural world. Labiba Ferhat (Algeria) embodied Algeria’s history by fusing historical pride with contemporary aesthetics that reinvented urban memory via layered compositions, while Rija Umar (Pakistan) muses on memory and societal conceptions in The Tragic Love of Poseidon and Medusa. In her story of respect, Lucinda Holland (UK) showed how camels have shaped cultural values in a significant way, fusing creative marvel with tradition and history.

The core of “REFLECTIONS” was an invitation to participate, listen, and question. Each artist’s contribution addressed not just personal experiences, but also universal topics that united mankind. This show demonstrated the transforming power of art, uniting cultures, exposing unseen tales, and sparking debates that went beyond the museum walls. The exhibition was officially opened by the Chief Guest, H.E Yaqoob Al Ali, in the presence of VIP guests Maktoum Al Marzooqi, Eng. Dr. Zahra Al Darwish, Sana Lamlih, Nadine Ellithy, Aaryan Singh, Abeer Abdullah, Ahmed Khaled, Umer Hayat, Peter Farrington, Mohsen Ebadi, Reem Alsubiy, and other art enthusiasts. “REFLECTIONS” at Dubai’s Mehromah Art House promised to be an enriching and fascinating experience. As Dubai emerged as a global art destination, this exhibition highlighted the city’s role in fostering cultural conversation and innovation.
