Diana Gerrard has launched the first fashion sustainable project in UAE

The Women of the Earth Foundation develops and will implement meaningful campaigns and programs to connect, inspire, and encourage action on timely sustainability concerns, such as climate change, conservation, and others. In line with that focus, the delegates of Mrs Earth UAE and ambassadors of the Women of the Earth Foundation also participated in an environmental CSR initiative by planting trees in collaboration with Ndigitec. Planting trees contributes to tackling the climate change crisis by storing carbon within the trees themselves rather than releasing carbon dioxide into the air.

Together, we can embark on a journey towards a greener future, symbolizing our shared commitment to sustainability and creating a lasting positive impact on our environment. ♻️

Diana Gerrard has launched the first sustainable fashion project in the the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during the “Year of Sustainability.”

For the first time in Dubai and specifically from July 10-12, 2023, Mrs Earth UAE, a uniquely sustainable fashion project, was unveiled and took place. The 3 days consisted of different activities. One key activity involved a workshop focused on examining the critical intersection of fashion and sustainability. This workshop raised awareness on and highlighted various dimensions on fashion and sustainability in the lead up to COP28, the major climate change conference that will take place in Dubai .

Diana Gerrard stated at the opening of the workshop, ‘’As we are all aware, the fashion industry plays a significant role in our global economy and society. However, it also has substantial environmental impacts, such as contributing to pollution, resource depletion, and greenhouse gas emissions. With COP28’s emphasis on addressing climate change and promoting sustainable practices, we believe our expertise and insights on the subject would be invaluable to our workshop participants.” The workshop aimed to foster constructive dialogue among industry experts, policymakers, and thought leaders regarding sustainable practices, innovations, and challenges within the fashion industry.

Diana also launched her foundation, Women of the Earth Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes environmental awareness and literacy and inspires collective community actions in order to help save our planet. Women of the Earth Foundation was created to complement Mrs Earth UAE in serving as its philanthropic arm focused on sustainability. By engaging and empowering women, who are central to communities across the Global South especially, the foundation will seek to contribute to instilling change that promotes sustainability, sustainable development, and collective responsibility through a broad range of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
